Meta Tag Checker
Extract and grade every meta tag on a page — title, description, canonical, Open Graph, and Twitter cards.
What this tool does
The Meta Tag Checker extracts every SEO-relevant tag from a live page — title, meta description, canonical URL, meta robots, viewport, the full Open Graph set, and Twitter card tags — and grades the setup with pass/warn/fail checks: title and description lengths, canonical presence, social tags, and mobile viewport. Missing tags are labeled explicitly, so absence is as visible as error.
Meta tags are your page's interface with every system that isn't a human reader. Title and description control your search snippet; the canonical prevents duplicate-content dilution; a stray 'noindex' in meta robots quietly removes the page from Google entirely; and Open Graph and Twitter tags decide whether a share on LinkedIn, Slack, or X renders as a rich preview card or a naked gray link. When a page shares ugly or ranks strangely, the answer is usually in these tags — invisible on the page but decisive off it.
Audit your key pages, fix the fails first (missing viewport and broken canonicals do real damage), then fill in the social tags. Our Meta Description Generator and SERP Snippet Preview handle the rewrite; SirWritesALot handles everything inside the page.
